Thomas Schutz was born at Ft. McClellan Army Base in Anniston, AL where his parents, Gene and Betty, were stationed at the time. In the the years that followed, the family lived in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and New Jersey, where Thomas went to high school and college. While in college, Thomas' parents and siblings moved to Louisiana for 3 years, then to California, finally landing just north of Los Angeles. After college, Thomas started his professional career in sales and sales management, and played professional soccer for several different teams. Thomas and another college friend decided to leave New Jersey and head West, so they embarked on a month long trip across the country, with California as the ultimate destination. During their exploration of Southern California, they stayed with another college buddy who had recently moved from New Jersey and took up residence in Pacific Beach (in San Diego). It was like finding paradise! They moved into a great home in Pacific Beach in April, and have stayed in San Diego since then.
Thomas has two children who were both born in La Jolla, CA. His daughter graduated from UC Santa Barbara, worked for several different bio-tech companies, and recently went back to school to get a Masters of Science to become a PA (Physicians Assistant). His son is at City College studying film/video and working part time for one of the Cable Companies. He played ice hockey in the San Diego District Hockey League, and loves rooting for the Anaheim Ducks in the NHL and going to games as often as possible. He also took up golf several years ago and is fine tuning his game so he can eventually beat his dad!
